Memory Monday – A Mystery!

November 21, 2011 by Kersti 3 Comments

I stumbled across this hidden doorway with it’s sculpture of Queen Elizabeth I while in London back in 2001. At the time I remember being quite in awe of the fact that here was a sculpture of Elizabeth outside of one of her palaces – for some reason it seems to me to be exceedingly … [Read more…]

Memory Monday – Our City O-Tautahi, 2004

November 14, 2011 by Kersti Leave a Comment

Our City O-Tautahi is a Queen Anne style building by architect Samuel Hurst Seagar in the heart of Christchurch. It sits aside the beautiful Avon River and is just down the road from the stunning Christchurch Cathedral. I visited here in 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was such a shock to see the devastation earlier this … [Read more…]

Memory Monday – Kill Tegan!

November 7, 2011 by Kersti 2 Comments

When Tegan came over to Ireland on an extended visit back in 2007, we just had to go and seek out the town I’d found out about called Kiltegan – who could possibly resist? Here we are, with me doing as the sign says. The town itself, which in Irish is known as Cill Teagáin … [Read more…]

October 31, 2011 by Kersti 2 Comments

Culture Club – Karma Chameleon – Video Culture Club’s Karma Chameleon was a hit in Australia around the time of my 10th birthday. I had my birthday party at the local pool that year, I remember this song playing on the loud speakers as my friends and I had the new Calippo ice creams and … [Read more…]

Memory Monday – Box Camera

October 17, 2011 by Kersti 2 Comments

I can’t quite remember when this was taken, but I’m assuming I was around 7 years old. I do remember the red t-shirt, did like that a lot but wasn’t so keen on the dress. Hated my hair and my front teeth at the time! The photo itself was taken on a medium format box … [Read more…]

Memory Monday – Dress-Up Day Kitty

October 10, 2011 by Kersti Leave a Comment

This photo of me was taken on the morning of the school dress-up day in 1979. I was 6 and a half (and gosh isn’t that half so important!) In case it’s not too obvious, I was a cat. This was before Cats the musical, so the idea of a jumpsuit and cat ears is … [Read more…]
